Focused on the preservation of the environment and cultural heritage to boost social development.

Preserving the historical heritage and democratically spreading culture among countryside communities

The Manor House Project sponsored by the Arruda Botelho Institute restored the Bento Carlos property: a one-hundred-year construction dating back halfway to the XIX Century. Located in the city of São Carlos, in the state of São Paulo, the Manor House has been officially designated as a historical landmark by CONDEPHAATT. Heavily influenced by the Renaissance, the Manor House of Bento Carlos marked the beginning of the political, economic, and social history of the city of São Carlos itself.

With the grand opening to the public scheduled for 2007, the Manor House of Bento Carlos will provide a series of cultural activities, ranging from supervised visits to its collections to workshops, traveling exhibitions, expositions and series of classical music performances.
